Around The World and Back Again: Day Four of The CFR Comes Full-Circle

November 2, 2018 | Red Deer, AB – Day four of the Canadian Finals Rodeo carried an Around the World theme, sponsored by the Edmonton International Airport. In celebration of the CFR’s Canadian roots, patriotic swag was handed to guests as they arrived at the ENMAX Centrium for Performance #4. The Edmonton International Airport also gifted one lucky CFR fan at tonight’s performance with a trip to Las Vegas, valued at $2,500!
The Daily Pancake Breakfast was sponsored by EQUS, where their staff helped serve breakfast, mingled with attendees and contestants, and handed out western-themed swag all morning. Donations from this morning’s Pancake Breakfast benefited The Mustard Seed.


From 11:00am – 3:00pm, guests flocked to the Kids Dummy Roping competition held in the Heartland Room of Westerner Park’s Harvest Centre where Laci Pole and Caleb Fawcett were named the 2018 champions. Off site at Murph’s Pub in downtown Red Deer , local country music star, Ivan Daines, kicked off the afternoon with a free live performance from 4:00 – 7:00pm.

Performance #4 started with a tie between Jake Vold and Orin Larsen with a score of 86.25 in the Bareback and Scott Gunther got his first round win in Steer Wrestling with a time of 3.7. For the second night in a row Brady Tryan and Kasper Roy win the Team Roping round with a time of 4.2. Kyle Lucas gets his first go round with a time of 7.9 while Jake Watson also gets his first with a score of 87.00 in Saddle Bronc. Callahan Crossley in the Ladies Barrel Racing breaks her own fastest time with 13.454 to win her third go round in a row.

In the Novice Steer Riding Carter Sahli won the round with a score of 83.00 while Tristen Manning is your 2018 Canadian Finals Rodeo Steer Riding Champion.

This evening also marked the end of the Miss Rodeo Canada Competition, as Jaden Holle from Claresholme, AB was crowned Miss Rodeo Canada 2018 on the dirt during Performance #4. At 9:30pm, fans headed to the Crowning Reception held in the Lookout Room to witness contestant speeches and awards.

Tonight’s CFR Cabaret, presented by Real Country 95.5, started off with sounds from the Dean Ray Band and the Chris Buck Band. The two warmed up the crowd before headliner, Emerson Drive, took to the TD Cabaret Stage and ended the night off on a high note.
